She could save herself by just saying he cheated, but she took not to do so. Abigail lies for the purpose of getting what she desires. She lies about Elizabeth of participating in witchcraft so she can obtain John Proctor. Additionally, lying is among the greatest sins in Puritan religion (Arthur Miller 78). In conclusion, Abigail and Elizabeth had extremely different character roles. They had some alike qualities, but with different purposes. They both truly loved John Proctor and also both lairs.
